DELFT

Called Pasuthivu by natives, it was named Delft by Portuguese and renamed by the Dutch. It covers approximately 4700 hectares and is sparsely populated. There are wild horses introduced by the portuguese in the 1600's.

Horses are fenced by coral- stones piled up or by palmyrah leaves, which gives to delft its particular aspects.

Beside the wild horses, curiosities are plenty. There is the baobab tree and many other in the island

we visited Delft in 2010. I was little then. there are two ways of entering the island .They are by boat or water jet. and we used the second way.

There is a very big Baobab Tree in the island. This is the picture of it.
